- Apply aloe vera directly to the scarred area. The aloe vera can come in gel or cream form, or you may wish to remove the healing material directly from an aloe vera plant.
- Apply honey directly to the scarred area. Leave the honey on for 10 minutes and wash it away with cool water.
- Wrap one or two ice cubes in a small towel. Rub the scars with the ice cubes for 10 minutes every day. The ice will reduce the swelling and redness of the scars, which will make the skin appear healthier.
- Drink at least one glass of lemon juice or lemonade every day. The lemons contain citric acid which is believed to help the body rid itself of dead skin cells. These cells are then replaced with healthier, more vibrant skin
- Rub two tablespoons of lavender oil directly onto the scarred area. Allow the oil to remain on the skin. Lavender oil can also be found in commercial moisturizers, which can be used to substitute for the straight lavender oil.
- .Cut one tomato into thin slices with a sharp knife. Place one of the slices onto the scarred area. Allow it to remain for 10 minutes and rinse away any tomato juice left behind. Tomatoes are rich in Vitamin A, which is believed to help reduce the production of sebum, which builds up to cause acne
- Drink at least seven to eight eight-ounce glasses of water each day. Hydrated skin is more able to heal itself, which is the best way to reduce scars
